Plasmon's NetArchive is an Enterprise-class archive solution that understands different data classes have unique requirements for access, e-Discovery, and longevity. NetArchive integrates the best-in-class online technologies and long-term storage archive architectures with intelligent data management software to provide a turn-key archival solution. NetArchive allows companies to easily build an archive strategy that stores information on appropriate storage media, based on data retention rules, while ensuring that business-critical data is highly available, authentic, and secure for long periods of time.

NetArchive combines industry-leading NetApp filer technology with Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance and automated policy-management software to allow customers to provision data according to its unique storage requirements. The NetApp filers provide immediate access to critical data, and when data is infrequently accessed it can be moved to a long-term, permanent copy on Plasmon's Archive Appliance transparent to the application that wrote it.

By provisioning data to NetArchive, static files can be non-disruptively moved off the filers to the Archive Appliance via policy-management software, maintaining the namespace and freeing up room for data that must remain online and immediately available. For enhanced data protection, policies can make a secure, second copy of data on the Archive Appliance removable media, which meets the most strict compliance requirements and ensures that data is authentic throughout its lifecycle.
