The greatest single cause of storage subsystem failure is dirt and debris on the surface of the optical disk or in the drive mechanism. Very often, there is nothing wrong with the drive or media.

Alliance Storage Technologies offers three cleaning options for 12 inch Media, in order to maintain the performance of 12 inch optical media and drives:

The 12 inch Media Cleaning System (Part Number 97662550-00) provides a semi-automatic method for cleaning 12 inch Media. Hand or power operated, the 12 inch Media Cleaning System comes with the cleaning system fixture, gloves and a box of 500 cleaning wipes, treated with cleaning solution. Additional pre-soaked cleaning pads and gloves (Part Number SP97662548) are available.
